We all judge others. In today’s society it is almost impossible not to. It has become a part of our natural instinct to make a judgement on the people we pass on the street or talk to in a café.
The thing is we can never know what is going on in other peoples lives so why should we judge. The natural instinct to judge others cannot be helped. However what can be helped is how we act upon our judgements. That is what really defines us.
You see no one is telling you that you have to like every person that you meet. No one is saying that you have to love every colour of hair that you see. You don’t have to like what people are wearing or how they speak. You can choose what you like and don’t like. It is your life after all and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However if you go up to the person wearing that colour top you don’t like and you tell them exactly what you think about it, then you are in the wrong. You have no right to put others down simply because they don’t meet your standards. You have no right to tell someone what they can and can’t do simply because you don’t like it.
It is part of our rights to have freedom of speech but I don’t see why we cant use that positively. I don’t see why we find it so much easier to put people down than lift them up. Kindness costs nothing. Putting a smile on someone else’s face or making them life can possibly be considered the most rewarding feeling on the planet.
What I am trying to say is use the right you’ve been given to bring joy to a world plagued by fear. None of us know what is around the corner and with the world being the way it is today we need all the positive vibes we can get.
