To all the people who have been told they’ll never make it.

Steve Jobs was fired from the company he created, Apple, in 1985 for pretty much being himself.

Walt Disney was fired from Kansas Star City because he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas”.

Oprah Winfrey was fired from her evening news reporter job for being too emotional.

After a performance Elvis was told he should return to Memphis and carry on driving trucks.

Albert Einstein didn’t speak until he was 4 years old, didn’t write until he was 7 and was expelled from school.

Charles Darwin’s father called him “lazy” and “too dreamy”.

Marilyn Monroe was told to become a secretary by modelling agencies.

Vincent Van Gogh never saw his own success.

Steven Spielberg was rejected from the University of Southern California School of Theatre, Film and Television three times.

And my all time favourite,

Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basket ball team. He lost many games, missed many shots, failed many times but that is why he succeeded.

Don’t get disheartened by a few failures and mistakes. Don’t let other people’s opinions stop you from going out there and achieving all your dreams. You are in control of your own future. Are you going to let the unsuccessful people in your life tell you that you can’t do it? Are you going to let them direct your life? In 50 years from now do you want to look back on a life filled with regrets or a life filled with success? Your mistakes will mould you into a better, stronger more resilient person. Your life is in your hands why let someone else control it? Don’t let all that potential within you go to waste. You are your only limit, the only person who can stop you from reaching your goals is yourself. If they tell you why you cannot do it, go show them why you can. They don’t want to see you succeed which is all the more reason why you should.

Believing in yourself is the first step in getting others to believe in you too. If you doubt yourself people will see that and nothing will stop them from doubting you too.
