Ok ladies and gentleman I am confused. Ever since I can remember I have loved reading more than anything else in the world. It started as a young child listening to my mum and dad read to me and my sister every single night. It progressed to me being an extremely confident and sassy 5 year old girl in Year 1 who was put in the top set for reading and always got picked to read.
It developed into what it is now, my escape. Reading allows me to escape into another world far away from this one. When I’m tired and fed up of reality I just pick up a book and make my escape. I have read so many books I couldn’t count if I tried to. The feeling is unlike any other and when I say I can escape for hours, I mean it. Sometimes my family won’t hear from me for a whole day and when they come looking for me they usually find me covered in blankets next to 5 cups of tea and completely immersed in a book.
Reading opens your mind to new possibilities, ideas and adventures. Reading makes you view the world in a completely different way and makes life that little bit more interesting.
Now here’s the thing, why haven’t I ever mentioned this on my blog before? It is something I love doing, I read every single day and I love writing about what I love to do on my blog. SO WHY IS THIS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE BLOGGED ABOUT MY READING ADDICTION? Honestly, I have no idea.
But fear not I will not continue like this for any longer. From now on you can expect so many book blogs from me (expect detail and extreme fangirling, I apologise in advance).
I will begin this with a list of a few of my favourite reads ever! I will definitely do full book reviews on them at some point.
- Red Queen, Glass Sword, Kings Cage – Victoria Aveyard
- The Storyteller – Antonia Michaelis
- Three Daughters of Eve – Elif Shafak
- To Kill A Mockingbird – Harper Lee
- Beastly – Alex Flinn
- Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell
- Looking for Alaska – John Green
I am always on the look out for more book recommendations so do leave some in the comments!
